Indian tank landing ship INS Cheetah (L18) 1983-
Of the Kumbhir (project773IM)-class. With a standard displacement of 1.120 tons and as dimensions 83,9 x 9,7 x 1,3 (extreme bow)-2,58 (stern) x 5,2 (depth) metres. Fitted out with 2-2.200 hp Soviet Kolomna 40-D 2-stroke diesel engines allowing a speed of 18 knots. The crew numbers 120 men. The armament consists of 2-3cm AK-230 guns and 4-3cm CRN-9 anti aircraft Mekdak guns and further more 1 HAL Chetak helicopter. Built at the Stocznia Gydnia, Gdansk, Poland. Launched on 19 October 1983 and commissioned in February 1985. In 2013-2014 during 15 months modernized and repaired at the Cochin Shipyard. Homeport Port Blair.
