Indian tank landing ship INS Ghorpard (L14) 1974-2008


Commissioned ON 21 December 1974, reserve since 1993 and decommissioned on 11 January 2008. Homeport was Visakhapatnam. Of the Russian Polnocny-class (Project 773I) built at Gdansk, Poland. Displacement 1.150 (full loaded) tons and as dimensions 81,3 x 10,1 x 2,1 metres. Speed 18 knots. With a speed of 1 knots a range of 900 nautical miles. Crew numbered 60 men. Armament consisted (1985) of 2x2-3cm anti aircraft guns and 18x2-14cm rocket launchers.
