New French battleships were to be armed with 34,3 cm guns according to the Dutch magazine Marineblad dated 1913-1914 no. 8

Lyon-class

An item reported that the French minister of navy informed his cabinet about the battleships to be built in 1915. With a displacement of 28.000-30.000 tons was their armament to consist of 4x4-34,3cm guns. This new type gun could fire with a higher rate of fire the improved armour-piercing shells(1)

1. The Lyon-class had a main armament o4x4-34cm13.4”/45 Modèle 1912 guns and a displacement of 29.600 tons. Preceded by the Normandie-class, succeeded by the Dunkerque-class was the building of the Lyon-class cancelled due to outbreak of the First Woirld War in 1914.
