Australia intended to realize dock for battleships at Sydney, Australia according to the Dutch magazine Marineblad 1939 no. 4

Am item referred to the magazine U.S.R. dated 5 January 1939 reporting that an export of the British Admiralty was invited by the Australian cabinet to advise if it was possible to found a dock for battleships at Sydney, Australia. The edition dated 2 February reported that Australia was assured by the British Admiralty that British battleships would support the Australian defence if needed. This was the reason that Australia decided not to build a second 7.000 cruiser but instead built the dry dock to be built within 2 years. After completion would the Royal British Navy hand over a battleship for training officers and sailors.
