British Admiralty wanting to buy trawlers for anti submarine warfare according to the Dutch Newspaper Marineblad dated 1939 no. 10

An item referred to the magazine U.S.R. dated 17 August 1939 reporting that the British Admiralty intended to buy 80 modern trawlers to be used for anti submarine warfare. The trawlers had good seagoing capacities and a speed of 15 knots and could be armed with anti aircraft and submarine guns without much difficulty. They also could be used for convoy-escort duties.
