Russian landing assault air cushion or hovercraft project 1238 as called by the NATO Kasatka 1982-1996
Just one built by the Feodosia shipbuilding company ‘Morye’, Ukraine with yard number 201, namely the AK-16 which was commissioned in 1982 and decommissioned on 8 July 1996. Displacement 132 (full loaded) tons and as dimensions 26,6 x 12 x 1,2 metres. The two MT-70 gas turbines supplied totally 20.000 hp allowing a maximum speed 56 knots and with a decreased speed of 50 knots a range of 200 nautical miles. The crew numbered 15 men. The armament consisted of 1x6 barrels-3cm AK-306 gun with 2.000 rounds, 1x2-12,7mm machineguns, 2x22-14cm MS-227 Ogo rocket launchers and 2-3cm BP-30 Plamya grenade launchers. Served in the Black Sea Fleet. Hull numbers during her service were 108 (1982)-160 (1983)-161 (1984)-177 (1987)-118 (1990)-455 (1992).
