An item referred to the Mitteilingen a.d. G.d.S. reporting that the American battleships USS Utah and Florida were to be fitted out with Parsons-turbines. Battleships were not longer fitted out with Curtiss-turbines unless these were more reliable. Both ships were now fitted out with coal-oil fired water tube boilers of which each boiler could operate independently.
