Italian armoured cruiser San Giorgio performed well during trials according to the Dutch magazine Marineblad 1910-1911 no. 7
An item referred to the magazine Le Yacht reporting that the Italian armoured cruiser San Giorgio during a full speed trial a maximum speed of 24 miles with 19.700 hp achieved and a fuel consumption of 835 gram hp/hour. During the 24 hours trail was 14.000 hp developed instead of the expected 13.000 hp with a fuel consumption of 820 gram.(1)

Laid down at the Regio Cantieri di Castellammare di Stabia, Italy on 4 July 1905, launched on 27 July 1908, completed on 1 July 1910, scuttled at Tobruk, Libya by her own crew to prevent capture by British and Australian forces on 22 January 1941, stricken on 18 October 1946 and sunk while being towed back to Italy in 1952.
