French navy planned to have a considerable strength in 1907 according to the Dutch magazine Marineblad dated 1899-1900 no. 10

An item referred to the Marine Francaise reporting that in France a law was to be discussed dealing with a 7years naval shipbuilding program with total costs 476.336.000 francs. The intention was to built 6-around 15.000 ton battleships, 5-around 12.000 ton armoured cruisers, 28-around 305 ton destroyers and 26 submarines. In 1907 was the French fleet to consist of 28 squadron battleships, 24 armoured cruisers, 52 destroyers, 263 torpedo boats and 38 submarines.
