French torpedo boats no.’s 256-238 performed very well during trials according to the Dutch magazine Marineblad dated 1899-1900 no. 10

An item reported that the French torpedo boats No.‘s 236-238 all achieved a speed as more as 25 miles which was more as the contracted speed of 24 miles. The boats were fitted out with Temple Guyot-boilers just like the 6 torpedo boats D-I which also the passed over the contracted speed of 18 miles.
