Royal British Navy possessed a considerable strength in 1899 according to the Dutch magazine Marineblad dated 1896-1897 no. 5

An item referred to the Allgemeine Militaire Zeitung reporting that if the recently in the British Parliament approved budget was completed in 1899 the Royal British Navy consisted of 29 armoured battleships 1st class larger as 9.000 ton, 26 armoured cruisers, 50 protected cruisers 1st class larger as 3.000 tons, 30 protected cruisers of 2.000-3.000 tons, 64 destroyers and so on.
