The armament of the American scout cruiser USS Salem according to the Dutch magazine Marineblad dated 1907-1908 No. 11
An item reported that the American scout cruiser Salem was to be armed with 2-12,7cm quick firing guns and 6-7,6cm quick firing guns. The ammunition was partially stored in a spare magazines forwards and aft and the ammunition prepared for use in a magazine from where elevators transported 12 rounds in a minute.(1)
