US Navy replacing 3 and 6pd guns by 7,6cm guns according to the Dutch magazine Marineblad dated 1907-1908 No. 11

An item reported that the Artillery Office of the American Department of Navy was preparing the replacement of the smaller guns. All 3 and 6 pdrs on board of the battleships was to be removed except 2 for salutes. For replacement were 7,6cm guns l/50 intended of which the number depended on available weight and place. The rate of the 15cm guns was too low for a sufficient defence against torpedo attacks.
