British Royal Navy fitting out fast cruiser with torpedo nets according to the Dutch magazine Marineblad dated 1911-1912 no. 8

An item reported that the British Admiralty decided to fit the fast cruisers out with torpedo nets which could not be penetrated by the torpedoes of that moment. The result were an heavy and unmanageable nets.
