An item reported that the German navy intended to sell her oldest torpedo boats dating from the 1880s. It were the Schütze, Flink, Scharf, Tapfer, Kühn and Vorwärts of 50 tons displacement built by Actien-Gesellschaft Weser, Bremen, Germany, drei so-called “Vu” (Vulcan made) bats of 75-90 tons and one Thornycroft made 80 tons torpedo boat. Those boats were stationed until the autumn 1899 at Danzig, then replaced by Schichau built boats and brought to Kiel, Germany. The Vulcan-made boats were recently used as tenders.
