Italian navy decided to built 16.000 tons battleships according to the Dutch magazine Marineblad dated 1907-1908 no. 5

An item reported that the Italian navy decided to built instead of  the 3 designed battleships of the Vittorio Emanuele type 4-16.000 tons battleships with an main armament of 8-32cm guns.(1)

1. Never realized, the Regina Elina-class was succeeded by the 21.600 tons Dante Alighieri with 12-12” guns and which was on her turn succeeded by the23.458 tons Conte di Cavour-class. With a main armament of 3x3+2x2-30.5cm/12” guns.
