Russian naval base at Moon dismantled according to the Dutch newspaper Bataviaasch nieuwsblad dated 25 October 1917

An item dated Petrograd, Russia 22nd reported that the naval base on Moon [Muhu or Muhumaa nowadays Estonia] was complete dismantled. The northern entrance to the Moon Sound and the entrance of the Finnish Gulf were guarded by Russian warships. One their submarines attacked a German dreadnought firing two torpedoes at her but forced to dive when she was herself attacked by sea planes. When she came later again to the surface was smoke on some distance visible, probably of the dreadnought. Further more was a German transport torpedoed.
