American torpedo boat saved main part of destroyed French hospital ship according to the Dutch newspaper Bataviaasch nieuwsblad dated 19 December 1922
An item
dated Eilvese 18th reported that off San Stefano a fire broke out on
board of a French hospital ship underway towards Constantinople, Turkey. An
American torpedo boat saved most of the survivors although still 14 persons
were missing.
