British battleship Dreadnought being broken up according to the Dutch newspaper Algemeen Handelsblad dated 23 January 1923


An item reported that was begun with breaking up the famous British battleship Dreadnought. She was 16 years earlier built with as building costs 1,750 pound sterling and of revolutionary design starting a new era of battleships called after he dreadnoughts.(1)

1. Her keel was laid down at the HM Dockyard at Portsmouth on 2 October 1905, launched on 2 December a year later, commissioned on 2 December, decommissioned in 1919 and broken up in 1923.
