Dutch East Indies government studying Dutch fleet plans according to the Dutch newspaper De Sumatra Post dated 19 March 1921

An item dated Weltreveden, Dutch Indies 18th reported that the Dutch Fleet plans as proposed by the interdepartmental commission in the Netherlands were received in the Dutch East Indies and immediately was started with studying the plans. The chief in command of the naval staff captain Gooszen (1) was ordered to advise the governor-general. The Royal Netherlands Navy had the hope that the Dutch Indies Government approved the plans make a fast decision by the parliament in the Netherlands possible. The Royal Netherlands Navy was to consist of relatively small ships while submarines as the core.

Antonie Frederik Gooszen (24 May 1869 Amsterdam, Netherlands-26 April 1955 Bloemendaal, Netherlands), dismissed in the rank of vice-admiral after more as 37 year service in the Royal Netherlands Navy. He presided the interdepartmental commission.
