An item reported that according to tidings received from Athens, Greece Turkish coastal batteries damaged the Greek battleship Averof (1) heavily during the bombardment of Ismid, Turkey.

1. The armoured cruiser Georgios Averof,. Ordered 1909, laid down at the Orlando Shipyards at Livorno, Italy 27 February 1910, launched 12 March 1910, commissioned 1 September 1911 and decommissioned 1 August 1952. She was originally intended for the Italian navy as part of the Italian Pisa-class armoured cruisers.
