Dutch screw steamship 4th class Zr. Ms. Bali underway towards the Dutch East Indies according to the Soerabaijasch handelsblad dated 12 November 1883

An item reported that the Dutch screw steamship Zr.Ms. Bali lieutenant 1st class H.G. Hildebrandt left on the 4th Port-Said, Egypt bound for Djeddah, Saudi Arabia. She arrived at Port Said in the afternoon of the 2nd coming from Malta.(1)

1. Ex-St. Eustatius renamed 1883, screw steamship 4th class, laid down at the shipyard of the Ned. Stoomboot Mij, Fijenoord, Netherlands in 1877, launched in 1878, commissioned at Hellevoetsluis, Netherlands on 6 August 1883, transferred to the Indische Militaire Marine in 1883, decommissioned on 4 September 1906, stricken and further to be used as pilot age station ship. Dimensions 45-53,6 (over all) x 9 x 3,6 metres, a displacement of 850 tons, compound steam engines, a horsepower of 90nhp/450 ehp, a speed of 9,5 miles, a crew numbering 76 Europeans and 28 natives and original an armament of 1-15cm A gun, 2-12c.m. K.A. guns, later added 1-7,5cm A gun and 2-3,7cm guns. Iron built with wood planked. Call sign GQJB.
