Dutch spar torpedo boat Zr. Ms. XII 1878-1913


Her building at the shipyard Kon.Mij. De Schelde at Vlissingen, Netherlands was ordered on 31 May 1878 with yard number 13, the building started while using models, placing the thrushes and then plated, launched on 18 August 1879, trails while berthed on 18 August 1879, official trial on 11 October 1879, delivered the same day, training ship after 1907, target ships 1911-1913 and broken up in 1913. Built by engineer J. Janszen junior. In an article in the magazine Onze Vloot dated 1950 called the Prins Hendrik.

Engine No. 14 and one 120 lbs locomotive boiler No. 17 with a grid surface of 16 square feet and a heating surface of 516 square feet. Speed 17 knots. The armament consisted of 1-3,7cm gun and 1 spar torpedo device. Coal bunker capacity 5 cubic metres. Displacement 20-29,5 (maximum)  tons and dimensions 24,15 (between perpendiculars) x 3,15 x 0,54 (fore design)-1,58 (aft design) x 2,17 (hold) metres.

The order was accepted for ƒ 45.000, the building costs were ƒ 43.439,48 meaning a profit of ƒ 1.560,52.
