Dutch spar torpedo boat Zr. Ms. XIX 1879-1905


Her building at the shipyard Kon.Mij. De Schelde at Vlissingen, Netherlands was ordered on 20 December 1879 with yard number 20, the building started while using models and then plated on 18 October 1880, launched on 15 October 1881 with engine and boiler already on board, trials while berthed on 15 October 1881, technical trial on 31 October 1991 and on 31 December 1881 handed over to the Royal Netherlands Navy. Stricken in 1905.

Dimensions 24,63 (between perpendiculars) x 3,15 x 0,54 (fore loaded)-1,58 )aft, loaded)2,17 (hold) metres and a displacement of 31 ton. Fitted out with the 2 cylinder engine no. 26 delivering 250 ihp allowing a speed of 16,89 miles. Furthermore the locomotive boiler no. 32 with a pressure of 120 lbs and a heating surface of 516 square feet. Coal bunker capacity 5 cubic metres. One 3-bladed screw. Het crew numbered 10 men. The armament consisted of 1-3,7cm gun and a spar torpedo equipment. Built by engineer J. Janszen junior.
