Former Turkish transports Theis and Derna commissioned in Italian navy as Capitano Verri and Bengasi according to the magazine Mitteilungen aus dem Gebiete des Seewesens dated 1912 no. 1

An item reported that the Turkish transports Theis and Derna captured by Italy during the war were added to the Italian navy under the new names Capitano Verri and Bengasi.(1)

1. War between 29 September 1911-18 October 1912 which was disastrous for Turkey and resulting in establishing Italian Libya  and gaining control over the Greek Dodecanese islands.
