20 December 1879 ordered the Royal Netherlands Navy the building of the 4 spar
torpedo boats Zr. Ms. XVII-XX included steam engines and boilers.
The order was accepted for ƒ
192.000 and another ƒ 13.000 for stores and spar devices. The building costs
were ƒ 156.041,81 meaning a profit of ƒ 48.958,19.
