US Navy decreasing personnel strength according to the Dutch newspaper Nieuwe Rotterdamsche Courant dated 14 January 1922
An item dated Washington, USA, 13th
reported that the US cabinet proposed to fix the personnel strength of the navy
on 90.000 men and 6.000 trainees against the 100.00 men and 6.000 trainees at
the moment and to decommission 100 destroyers. Expected was an decrease of the
annual budget with 70 million dollar. The number of officers in actual service
was not to be decreased.
