US Navy paying off battleships according to the Dutch newspaper Algemeen Handelsblad dated 17 February 1923

An item dated Washington, USA 17th reported that the American president Harding (1) asked the Congress to approve a budget of 20.950 US dollars needed for paying off battleships according to the Washington Naval Treaty.(2)
