An item dated Washington, Navy 1st referred to a statement of the American admiral Taylor of the naval bureau of construction before the Naval Committee of the House of Representatives that the after 1 July the peace strength of the US navy consisted of 940 ships including 16 dreadnoughts, 13 older battleships, 8 armoured cruisers and 17 light cruisers.
