American governor of Ohio J.M. Cox suggested reducing naval budget according to the Dutch newspaper Bataviaasch nieuwsblad dated 13 October 1920

An item dated New York, USA 7th reported that the American senator Cox (1) in a stump speech stated that if the USA attended the League of Nations she could reduce her naval expenses with 465 million US dollars by stopping the building of battleships and every soldier who desired such giving a farm.
