Building of new Italian 10.000 tons cruisers class begun according to the Dutch magazine Marineblad dated 1924 no. 4

An item referred to the Naval and Military Record dated 20 February 1924 reporting that the first two ships of the new Italian 10.000 tons cruisers were to be named Trieste and Amalfi. Their speed was to be 34, miles and the armament consisted of 2x2-20,3cm and 2x3-20,3cm 50 cal guns, linear arranged, 2 turrets fore and 2 aft. Further more were the cruisers to be fitted out with 2 reconnaissance aircraft which were to take off with the cruiser under full speed.
