An item referred to the magazine Le Yacht reporting that the French navy took over the seagoing torpedo boat Agile built by Forger&Chantiers, de La Seyne, France after her very successful trials. With a 103 tons displacement and twin screws achieved she at the measured mile a speed of 20,4 knots. Locomotive type boiler, which just after many problems performed well. The intention was that another tow torpedo boats of the Coureur design were to be laid down.(1)

1. Of the Agile-class consisting of the Agile, Audacieux, Eclaire, Kabyle, Orage, Sarrazin and Tourbillon. Launched at F.C. de la Méterrianée, La Seyne on 4 July 1889, completed in 1889 and sold in 1912. The building of the first two was ordered on 3 August 1888 using the designs of the director of the shipyard.
