U-32-class submarines in early stage with 2 guns
An item dated Amsterdam, Netherlands 19th referred to a statement of the representative of the USA that the German submarines in the Mediterranean all denied the destroying of the Persia.(1)

1. Cargo-passenger ship, launched at Caird&Company, Greenock, Scotland on 13 August 1900 for the Peninsular&Oriental Steam Navigation Company and torpedoed by the British submarines U-38. The U-38 was laid down at the Germaniawerft, Kiel, Germany on 25 February 1913 and finally broken up at Brest, France in 1921.
