German cabinet asked parliament for more budget for naval newbuilding according to the Dutch magazine Marineblad dated 1901-1902 no. 10

An item referred to the magazine le Yacht reporting that the German cabinet would asked the Reichstag for a budget needed to start in 1902 with the building of 2 battleships, 5 cruisers and a division destroyers. However with the armament of these new ships was the in an earlier stadium approved nearly 50 million mark already over budget. The German emperor himself supported the needed supplemental budget in his statement trying to persuade the parliament to approve it.
