Tests with German submarines not successful according to the Dutch magazine Marineblad dated 1901-1902 no. 10

An item referred to the magazine le Yacht reporting that the tests executed by the German navy with submarines were not successful and so was the introduction for an indefinite period delayed. German engineers stated that the control and steering under all circumstances was not enough secured. The French magazine le Yacht wrote further that apparently the German navy was not familiar with the tests executed at Cherbourg, France.
