Results of full speed test of the American battleship USS Vermont (BB-20) according to the Dutch magazine Marineblad dated 1910-1911 no. 5

Connecticut-class

An item referred to the Army and Navy Journal reporting that the Vermont (1) part of the American Atlantic Fleet executed full speed tests of with the following results: speed 18 (design)-18,33 (when handed over)-15,14 (in service) miles and with a displacement of 16.000 (when handed over)-16.968 (in service) tons. Her service speed was the medium speed during 4 hours, but in the begin of the thirds hour were her engines to be stopped during a short time. When the engines were restarted was the maximum speed just 10 miles due to failing feed pumps.
