The figures for respectively Chatham, Portsmouth and Devonport for the budget year 1937-1938 were for sailors 47, 49 en 74% en for stokers 77, 58 and 77%, meaning a medium percentage 77%, or 2.295 of the 3.315 men. The scores of Chatham were less satisfying probably caused by the nearness of London.
