British battleships HMS Albemarle and Commonwealth collided according to the Dutch newspaper Soerabaijasch handelsblad dated 16 February 1907

Duncan-class

An item reported that the repairs of the in a collision [with the Albemarle (1)] involved British battleship HMS Commonwealth would last some months.(2)

1. Laid down at the Chatham Dockyard on 1 January 1900, launched on 5 March 1901, baptized by Lady Kennedy. Completed in November 1903, commissioned on 12 November 1903, refitted at Malta May-August 1909, paid off on 30 October 1911, refitted at the Portsmouth Dockyard January-December 1912, paid off to provide sailors for anti submarine vessels, refitted at Liverpool October 1916-March 1917, accommodation ship in reserve at the Devonport Dockyard after March 1917, aded to the Gunnery School in 1919, decommissioned in April 1919, for sale since August 1919, sold to the Cohen Shipbreaking Company to be broken up on 19 November 1919 which was executed at Swansea after April in 1920. Building costs 1.078.395 pond sterling. Part of the Duncan-class consisting of the Duncan, Cornwallis, Montagu, Albemarle, Exmouth and Russell preceded by the London-class and succeeded by the King Edward VII-class.

Commonwealth, Dominion, Hibernia, Hindustan, New Zealand and King Edward VII, preceded by the Duncan-class and succeeded by the Swiftsure-class. Building ordered under the 1903 naval programme, laid down by Fairfield Shipbuilding and Engineering Company, Govan, Scotland on 17 June 1902, launched on 13 May 1903, completed in March 1905, commissioned on 9 May 1905, decommissioned in February 1921 and sold to be broken up on 18 November 1921.
