Chinese torpedo gunboats Kien-Wei and Kien-Ngan executing trials according to the Dutch magazine Machineblad dated 1903-1904 no. 5

An item referred to the magazine Mittheilungen dated May 1903 reporting that the Chinese 3rd class cruisers Kien-Wei (1) and Kien-Ngan (2) based on the design of the French Dunois cruisers achieved during their trials the contracted speed of 20 miles. The machinery consisted of Normand-Sigaudy boilers and engines built by the Societé des Forges et Chantiers de la Méditerranée, would be placed in the ships at Futschao.
