British HMS Dreadnought
An item referred to the Müncher Zeitung reporting that the new battleships Ersatz Sachsen (1) and Ersatz Bayern (2) were to be armed with 16-28cm L/50 Krupp M 1901 guns able to fire 345 kilo projectiles included 132 kilo explosives with a start speed of 884 metres/sec. The German ships were able to shoot 5.500 kilo against the Dreadnought in the same time just 3.825 kilo of projectiles.

1. The Westfalen, Of the Nassau-class consisting of the Westfalen, Rheinland, Posen and Nassau, preceded by the Deutschland class and succeeded by the Helgoland class. Laid down by AG Weser, Bremen, Germany with yard number 163 on 12 August 1907, launched on 1 July 1908, commissioned on 16 November 1909, stricken on 5 November 1919 and broken up at Birkenhead,England in 1924. The main armament consisted of 6x2-28cm guns and not 16.
2. The Nassau. Of the Nassau-class consisting of the Westfalen, Rheinland, Posen and Nassau, preceded by the Deutschland class and succeeded by the Helgoland class. Laid down at the Kaiserliche Werft, Wilhelmshaven, Germany with yard number 30 on 22 July 1907, launched on 7 March 1908, commissioned on 7 March 1908 and broken up at Dordrecht, Netherlands in 1920. The main armament consisted of 6x2-28cm guns and not 16.
