American destroyers Peary and Pillsbury visited Menado in 1936

An item reported that the American destroyers Peary (1) and Pillsbury (2) visited the Dutch East Indies harbour Menado between 14-16 December 1936.

1. Laid down by William Cramp&Sons, Philadelphia on 23 December 1919, launched on 9 September 1919, launched on 6 April 1920, commissioned on 22 October 1920, sunk during a Japanese air attack on Darwin, Australia and stricken on 8 May 1942. Clemson-class DD-226.
2. Laid down by William Cramp&Sons, Philadelphia on 23 December 1919, launched on 23 October 1919, launched on 3 August 1920, commissioned on 15 December 1920 and sunk by the Japanese cruiser Takao and Atago near Java, Dutch East Indies. Clemson-class DD-227.
