Gas explosion on board of the French submarine Souffleur according to the Dutch magazine Marineblad dated 1937 no. 6

An item referred to the magazine le Yacht dated 21 August 1937 reporting that a gas explosion due to insufficient ventilation caused a small fire on board of the French submarine Souffleur.(1)

1. Of the Requin-class, laid down by Arsenal de Cherbourg, Cherbourg, France on 2 October 1922, launched on 1 October 1924, commissioned on 10 August 1926 and destroyed by the British submarine HMS Parthian off Beyrut, Lebanom on 25 June 1941.
