French destroyer l’Intrépide heavily damaged by fire according to the Dutch magazine Marineblad dated 1937 no. 6

An item reported to the magazine le Yacht dated 11 September 1937 reporting that on board of the French destroyer l’Intrépide a furious oil fire just after 2 hours under control was causing considerable damage. She was just to depart towards the Spanish waters.(1)

1. Of the Aventurier-class, consisting of the Opiniâtre, Aventurier, Téméraire and Intrépide, preceded by the Enseigne Roux-class and succeeded by the Arabe-class,  built for account for account of Argentina but taken over by France due to the outbreak of the First World War. Launched by Ateliers et Chantiers de Bretagne, Nantes, France on 25 September 1911, completed on 2 November 1914, stricken in 1937 and broken up in 1938.
