An item reported that on board of the Dutch steam gunboats Zr.Ms. Wodan (1) and Thor screws of the Hirsch type were used. The screws were cast using models especially made by the inventor for this kind of vessels. The tests however was not successful, the speed was 1,5 miles slower than when the original screws. The Hirsch screws were as a result removed,

Call sign GPWD, on stocks by Christie, Nolet&De Kuyper, Delfshaven, Netherlands on19 September 1876, launched on 31 March 1877, departed the shipyard on 8 November 1877, converted at the navy yard at Hellevoetsluis,Netherlands into a minelayer in 1918, converted back to be used for training sailors in 1923, reconverted into a minelayer in 1926 and captured at Den Helder, Netherlands by the German forces on 14 May 1940. Further fate unknown.
