Experiment with Hirsch type screws on board of Dutch steam gunboats Zr. Ms. Thor and Wodan failure according to the Dutch Jaarboek van de Koninklijke Nederlandsche Zeemagt 1876-1877

An item reported that on board of the Dutch steam gunboats Zr.Ms. Wodan (1) and Thor screws of the Hirsch type were used. The screws were cast using models especially made by the inventor for this kind of vessels. The tests however was not successful, the speed was 1,5 miles slower than when the original screws. The Hirsch screws were as a result removed,

Further fate unknown.
