French aviso Rigault de Genouilly visited the Dutch East Indies in 1936

An item reported that the French aviso Rigault de Genouilly visited the Dutch East Indies harbours Semarang between 13-18 November 1936, Macassar between 20-23 November 1936 and Ternate between 26-29 November 1936.(1)

1. Bougainville-class aviso designed for service in the French Asian and African colonies, laid down by Forget et Chantiers de la Gironde, Bordeaux, France on 7 July 1931, launched on 18 September 1932, commissioned in March 1934 and sunk by the British submarine HMS Pandora on 4 July 1940.
