French aviso Amiral Charner visited the Dutch East Indies in 1936

An item reported that the French aviso Amiral Charner visited the Dutch East Indies harbours Tarakan between 23-25 November 1936, Larantoeka between 28 November-1 December 1936, Bali between 2-6 December 1936, Batavia between 8-14 December 1936 and Surabaya between 15-18 December 1936.(1)

1. Bougainville-class aviso designed for service in the French Asian and African colonies, laid down under the budget year 1930 by Forget et Chantiers de la Gironde, Bordeaux, France in 1931, launched in October 1932 and scuttled at Mytho [My Tho, Vietnam?] on 9 March 1945.
