Russian minelayer Yenisei sunk after an explosion according to the Dutch newspaper De Telegraaf dated 13 February 1904

An item dated St. Petersburg, Russia 13th reported that the transport Jenissei of the torpedo while laying torpedoes sunk on the 11th due to an explosion. Her commanding officer Stepanow, an engineer, 2 midshipmen and 92 sailors were killed.(1)

1. Of the Amur-class mine transports of the Amur and the Yenisei. She sunk after striking a mine of her own while laying a minefield in the Dailian Bay. Laid down at the Baltic Works, St. Petersbrug, Russia in 1898, launched on 20 May 1899 and complete in 1901.
