An item referred to the Proceedings dated July 1938 reporting that the last time motor torpedo boats were built for the French navy was in 1925. It were boats with a displacement of 11 tons with a speed of 39-44 miles although one even achieved a speed of 55 miles. Two boats were added to the Atlantic Ocean fleet manoeuvres and performed well even  during rough seas. In 1938 however were no intentions to increase the strength of motor torpedo boats.
