British submarine HMS H-31 lost according to the German Deutsche Zeitung in den Niederlanden dated 23 January 1942

An item referred to a statement of the British Admiralty last Friday reporting that the submarine H 31 was over time and so considered to be lost.(1)

1. H-class. Laid down by Vickers Limited, Barrow-in-Furness, England on 19 April 1917, commissioned on 21 February 1919 and sunk in the Bay of Biscay probably after hitting mines on 24 December 1941.
