Portuguese passenger annex cargo ship Uige 1952-1979

Portugal-flagged, homeport Lisbon, IMO 5272185 and call sign CSAN. Registered on 30 July 1954 with number H428. Built by Sociètè Anonyme John Cockerill, Hoboken, Belgium between 19 December 1952-1954 (launched on 23 January). Owned and managed by the Companhia Colonial de Navegacao between 1954-1974, since 1974 of the Companhia Portuguesa de Transportes Maritimimos, sold to Baptista&Irmaos Lda. On 29 November 1978, departed in March 1979 to the scrap yard which was completed in 1980 and stricken on 9 October 1980.

Gross register tonnage 10.001 ton, deadweight 6.830 ton. And as dimensions 137,36 (between perpendiculars) x 11,14 x 8,02 metres. One 6.850bhp 8-cyilinder Burmeister&Wain diesel and a cruising speed of 16 knots. Passenger accommodation 571 persons.
